    Took my laptop in for help with a pop up problem a month ago. It wasn't too bad; just occasionally got some pop up tabs with ads that annoyed me but the content and frequency weren't too terrible overall.   • Defective cell phone sent for replacement under protection plan



    Lost the replacement phone due was sent to Verizon Warehouse vs Geek Squad warehouse due to misinformed by various customer service reps and was given wrong label. No way to retrieve phone and it was defective anyway yet got charged $265 for a non returned item. Spent over a month dealing with this and hours on the calls to customer service.     I was verbally convinced by a salesman to sign up for AGI Geek Squad Protection, assured that this insurance would cover ANY kind of damage to my cell phone, except water damage. This was a SCAM. The fine print covers electronic problems only. My only concern was dropping my phone, which is why the salesman pushed the lie that this insurance would cover a cracked screen.     I took a computer in for GeekSquad to get the data off the hard drive. They said it was $160 but I got a free 500 Gb hard drive they would put the data on.     After carrying the protection plan for a few months, I had called to request canceling the monthly renewal back in Jan. 2013 and was verbally told it would be cancelled. Despite that - my card has continued to be charged for the last 18 months!!! I called again in June, 2014, to again insist on canceling and to insist this time getting confirmation in writing.     I have a 5 year old dryer that I purchased from Best Buy and did purchase a warranty. Now that the warranty has run out I have had to pay for my dryer to be fixed multiple times and have not been able to purchase a new warranty. My dryer was fixed 40 days ago and is broken again and I would have to pay for it all over again because the service is only guaranteed for thirty days even though I am having the same problem.
