Best Buy FrIed Graphics card under warrenty - HP Pavilion


Lost my Graphics card in my HP Pavilion. Still under warrrenty so took it to the Geek Squad . Came back from the repair service worked at the store but when I got it home wouldn't work with my new monitor tried both plugs no response. Opend the cover to find a mass of wires and a missing shield cover. could not figure why the monitor wouldn't work since the cables were connected to the port. Took it into GS today. opened the back and showed the tech the problem. He said "well the repair disabled the graphics card" I said well that wasn't very useful" him"well it works with our equipment." Long story short instead of replacing the graphics card with the correct part they put in a video card, ran it to a different port that requires an adaptor to work with the monitor-- an adaptor which I paid for out of my own pocket even though the machine is under warrenty. When I asked why they did not replace the Graphics card as they were instructed the reply was "the HP rep told us this was the right part. I asked why when they opened the machine and found out that they had been given a part that clearly did not replace any part found in my machine they didn't send the video card back and ask for the correct part the answer was " we just put the parts in it's the HP rep's fault.
I went to find my adaptor, 5 aisles over and could hear the tech ranting to co-workers about how horrible I was for asking such questions. I went back to the GS desk and said " you know that I and everyone else can hear you throughout the computer dept right?? May be I could get you a PA system so the whole store could listen to your complaints about me!" Down right snotty I know but I had been polite I hadn't cussed or raised my voice during the entire encounter. To Say I am annoyed is putting it mildly.
