Blue Screen Of Death ripoff


I bought a computer from the Ft. Lauderdale Best Buy (2829 N. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) on 08/16/121, and everything
was fine until a couple of months ago...I started getting the Blue Screen of Death...so yesterday I brought it in the store mentioned above to get it fixed. I told the Geek Squad guy what was wrong... he said it would be $129 to fix it... I left the store with a service ticket that only mentioned a re-install of my OS, with no mention of the BSOD issue... Several hours later, I was called and told it was ready, so I picked it up and brought it home... within the 1st two minutes, I got the BSOD again, and it's worse than ever! I spent the next hour on the phone trying to speak with the Store manager- when I finally did speak with Tracy (?) she put me on hold and spoke to the Geek Squad and then told me that the Geek Squad did what I asked (not true!) but was willing to run a diagnostics on it for ONLY $50 more. Why wasn't a diagnostics performed when I told the guy what was wrong? This morning was spent calling the corporate offices of the Geek Squad and Best Buy- neither party offered to refund the money, basically saying that they could only go by what that young kid at the Geek Squad documented, and that my word wasn't worth anything. So... keep the money- we all know how close Best Buy is to failing, so good luck. I brought my PC to Tigerdirect- their policy is that they run a diagnostics on a PC before they will service it... to bad that you don't have a policy like that. I WILL NEVER USE BEST BUY OR THE GEEK SQUAD AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
