Geek Squad Made Laptop Problems Worse

Took my laptop in for help with a pop up problem a month ago. It wasn't too bad; just occasionally got some pop up tabs with ads that annoyed me but the content and frequency weren't too terrible overall. Regardless I didn't want to mess with stuff I wasn't sure about, and that includes dealing with viruses and stuff that my (Geeksquad-installed Webroot) antivirus software apparently didn't catch.

Fast-forward a week later, I get my computer back to find things even WORSE. Pop ups now opened every minute or so instead of every 15-ish, the content was disgusting (you know what I'm talking about- I don't even visit those types of sites!), and now my computer was crashing, slower than me trying to run laps, and frequently had bouts of freezing or programs suddenly closing out. That stuff wasn't happening before I took it to them, hadn't happened at all before even.

And the kicker? After a bit of research I found a free software on the internet that took care of both the pop up tabs and some of the other minor bugs from viruses my antivirus (that THEY installed and said would work for x, y, AND z) apparently didn't catch! A free software fixed my original problem while Geek Squad multiplied it by 5 and added a new one. Now I have to ocassiomally remove my battery from my laptop, drain it of leftover electricity, and reinstall the damn thing just to get it to turn on, and it can't even handle low-performance programs sometimes despite it having relatively high specs.
